DIY repurposed sweatshirt

This project is super easy for the beginning sewer, and is a super cute way to spice up your wardrobe. I love to do this with any t-shirt or old sweatshirt. I got this from one of my favorite webistes: abeautifulmess.typepad.com/
This is what you will need:
-old t-shirt or sweatshirt
-crochet doilies
-thread
-pins
-bias tape
-embroidery of crochet thread
-sewing machine
-crochet of lace trip

First, cut the neckline off your sweatshirt for an off-the-shoulder look, then arrange the doilies along the neckline.
Next, pin the doilies in place.
Using an embroidery thread or crochet thread that matches the doilies, make a couple of stitches every half inch or so. Also add a few stitches to the middle of each doily or anywhere else that may need it.
After cutting the excess from the doilies on the neckline, pin and sew the bias tape. This will prevent the doilies from unraveling.
Add a little decorative trim if you like! Most craft stores sell pretty lace and crochet varieties.
Your sweater can be washed on gentle cycle and either hung to dry or dried with low heat. A simple and pretty way to stay warm in the upcoming winter months!
